Seventy-five-year-old patterns, under modern testing.

T7 Classical Charting is a stock swing-trading system built on the playbook Edwards & Magee published in 1948, with Table 7’s proprietary pattern tuning and trade management logic added — rectangles, double and triple bottoms, ascending triangles, head-and-shoulders, flags and pennants. Daily charts, multi-week holds, and a roughly 1,650-name target universe. The algorithm and its dashboard are both still in testing. We will open access once they clear validation.

What it is

An algorithm and a dashboard, built together.

Classical Charting Algorithm

In testing

Finds forming and confirmed classical chart patterns on daily stock charts, with a defined entry trigger, stop, and measured objective for each setup. Holds run weeks, not minutes, and the system trades on end-of-day data.

Classical Charting Dashboard

Runs once after the close and hands you the whole book on one screen: what triggered today, what is armed and about to, every open position marked to market, and the historical reliability of each pattern family.

Classical Charting on TradingView

Coming soon

The T7 Classical Charting model scans 1,600+ stocks every day and only takes the best classical pattern setups. On any one stock it trades rarely, but across the whole list there is almost always a fresh setup forming, so the model stays active.

Its foundation is the classical chart patterns in Robert D. Edwards and John Magee, Technical Analysis of Stock Trends, 5th edition (John Magee Inc., 1966). Table 7 adds its own proprietary pattern tuning and trade management logic for choosing setups and managing each trade from entry to exit. That layer is what drives these results; a generic pattern-recognition engine that only finds the shapes will not reproduce them.

The TradingView script, coming soon, puts the same pattern engine on any chart. It labels rectangles, double tops and bottoms, triangles, head and shoulders, flags, pennants, cup and handle, and more; marks entry, target (TP), and stop (SL) levels; and keeps an on-chart table of how each pattern has played out on that stock. Works on any stock: switch tickers and it runs as-is, with no settings to change. Still in testing.

Example backtests below (TradingView Strategy Tester, $20K start). Low trade counts per stock are the point: 62 trades on MSFT in over 40 years, 40 on NVDA in over 27. Each stock is one small slice of what the model watches every day.

Preliminary research note

Early research is encouraging, and it is still preliminary. The figures shown are TradingView backtests, not a live track record. Data-completeness, source-fidelity, implementation, cost, and out-of-sample questions are still being corrected and independently retested. Live results are still being tracked and will be added here as they build.
